<p><span style="color: #000000;">That means breaking your list down into more specific categories.<br />

<p><span style="color: #000000;">This does 3 main things</span></p>

<li><span style="color: #000000;">It      increases the accuracy and targeting of your marketing message</span></li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">It      Improves your response rates<br />
</span></li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">And it      improves your relationship with your customers.</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Think about it for a minute&#8230;</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">You might sell 20 different products or supplement.  If your messages are always targeted and addressing the concerns that your customers have… the reason they joined your list in the first place… then they’re never going to get bored with you and they’re going to be much more likely to open your emails.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"> Now without knowing your specific needs, I can only make a general recommendation on how you should split your list up.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">But here are the top 3 email segmentation tips you should consider.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Customers</strong>: The people who have bought from you should be kept on a separate list than those who just signed up for a specific report or joined your newsletter.  This is your real money list.  Treat them like gold.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Subscribers</strong>: These are prospects that haven’t yet bought anything from you, but opted in to your newsletter or to get some free piece of information.  They should be treated differently than Customers in that your goal is to build enough of a relationship with them that they become customers.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>People Interested in a specific health topic</strong>:  If someone signed up for a free report on Men’s health issues… they’re not going to be interested in your new e-book on natural breast cancer treatments.  But they will be very interested in hearing about your nutritional supplement for enlarged prostates.<br />
</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Send people too many emails on topics they’re not interested in and you’ve lost the chance to sell them something they care about or need from you.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Here’s a quick million-dollar tip for <em>how</em> to segment your list…</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">It’s the layered approach to collecting information.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">When someone opts into your list the first time, you know they’re paying attention.  You should start by only asking for a name and email… ask for more than this and you’re going to turn too many people off.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">But immediately after they’ve opted in, you know you have their attention. On the <em>very next page they see</em>, you can ask them for a little more information… like say, gender and what health issue they’re most concerned about (and make sure you do this with check boxes or a drop down menu so there’s no thinking on their part).<br />

<p><span style="color: #000000;">Not everyone will answer, but those that do have just told you which of your products they’re most likely to buy.</span></p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;">The tricks I’m talking about here are actually very simple, but for some reason, not every company is using them..<br />

<h2><span style="color: #000000;">Trick #1- Deliver Your Products Quickly</span></h2>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">In the supplement industry, people sometimes have to wait as long as 3 weeks to get the product they just paid for.  That’s a huge mistake.  If you want to really impress your new customers, have their order at their door just a few days after they ordered.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Same day shipping is a huge selling point if you can pull it off.  If your selling digital information, instant downloads are a must.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">We’re a society that loves instant gratification.  The faster we get what we pay for, the happier we are with the people that gave it to us.  I’ve worked with companies that wait until the cash is in their bank account before they ship.  Huge mistake.  If a customer’s credit card was approved in the order process, you can assume they’re good for the money.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">The goodwill and extra business you get far out weights the 1 in 1000 person who’ll stop payment or the rare credit bounce errors.<br />
</span></p>
<h2><span style="color: #000000;">Trick #2: Say “Thank You”</span></h2>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">If you’re selling out of your office or a store, you probably don’t have a problem with this, but a lot of online and mail order vendors never thank their customers?<br />
</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">First of all, it’s kind of rude.  They gave you business, thank them for it.  Let them know you appreciate them with a quick follow up email or letter included with their shipment.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">But a thank you note is more than just appreciation and impressing your customers.  It’s a great way to reduce refund rates.  These are often called “stick notes” because they encourage the customer to stick with the product.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">A stick note reinforces the main benefits of the product… it reminds them why they bought it in the first place.  Very powerful and still underutilized.</span></p>
<h2><span style="color: #000000;">Trick#3: Follow up</span></h2>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">If you want to look like a very professional caring company, follow up with your customers.  That means send them a newsletter with beneficial information, send “curtsy reorder forms,” or even send them related offers.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">If they liked the first product they bought from you, they’re not going to see these messages as unwanted intrusions.  They’re going to be seen as professional helpful hints that show you want to get them in the best health possible.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Follow up is also what separates the multi-million dollar companies from those still struggling to break the 7 figure mark.</span></p>
